More than just decorating eggs

Our OT kids decorated Easter eggs this week, and while the eggs look fun + colorful it’s worth so much more! Here’s why:

What skills are addressed in OT sessions dying eggs?
We adapted the task by using rice and food coloring inside a container so the patient could shake it while dying their eggs! They helped with scooping rice, squeezing the food coloring, shaking the containers, and removing the eggs with tongs!! With this one activity we addressed sequencing multiple steps, following directions, coordination, sensory processing, standing balance, motor planning, grasp development, visual attention, self-regulation and more!
