Child’s Play + Family
Supporting more
Families that are well supported and are more involved foster greater progress in their child’s other therapies, and we believe that a diagnosis goes beyond the child.
Child’s Play’s vision has always been to be a resource where patients of all ages and need, along with their families could come to seek exceptional outcomes, all while adding to the meaning of what an Autism clinic should be. In line with this goal, we have launched Mental Health Therapy for families. Our Psychologist team and Mental Health Counselors are here for brief therapy for families, couples, siblings and more. Whether working on your marriage, supporting your other children, or simply trying to understand and become a more active parent in your special child’s life, we are here for you.
Families face additional complications affecting their own mental health: Complex schedules managing therapy appointments, workplace stress, and many other factors may contribute to declining quality of life that deserves additional support and attention. Parents of children with ASD face additional challenges in their marriage and may see higher than average divorce rates. Siblings may need support preparing for an adulthood potentially assisting in care of their loved one, or simply coping with less attention being available from their parents.
Schedule an intake with our psychology team today, and let’s discuss your need, create a plan, and help you on your way to a brighter future. Better care is just the beginning.
It is of note that mental health visits for families are treated as separate medical records and a separate privacy wall. Our ABA team, including your child’s BCBA has no access to these records unless you choose to have something shared by the psychologist. The visits by you, your spouse and your children are separate clients with separate needs.
