Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas from all of us at Child’s Play Plus!

Stay warm!

Stay warm today, friends!

Self Care

This is your friendly reminder to take care of yourself, too! We understand how easy it is to become stressed out or overwhelmed during the holiday rush. Do something nice for yourself and rekindle that holiday joy!

Holiday Crowds

Your child might handle crowds and noise, but for a limited amount of time. Be sure to have a ‘Plan B’ when they start to feel overwhelmed, like a quiet place to retreat. Remember, it’s okay to simply leave.

Looking for answers?

Looking for answers? We’re here to help! Schedule your visit and allow us to guide you through our intake process, show you our facility and, of course, answer all of your questions! https://childsplayplus.com/

Share their preferences

Share your child’s preferences with extended family; like foods, games, activities as well as how well they tolerate bigger groups or length of stay. All of these can really help extended family members understand why you might leave right after dinner or prefer to stay in a hotel.

Family visits

Family visits during the holidays may become overwhelming for your kiddo – and that’s okay! Whether you are staying overnight or just a day trip, we recommend bringing your own necessities! It’s best to be prepared with the items that will maintain your child’s comfort zone such as food, blanket and toys.

Wish lists

Want to help family members with gift ideas for your kiddo? Offer up a wish list that can point them in the right direction of something your child is sure to love.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving from our family to yours! 🦃

Meal Expectations

Gobble ‘til you wobble? Perhaps not for some of us. A Thanksgiving meal for your kiddo may look exactly like their normal routine meal preferences… and that’s okay! It’s important to remind ourselves that not everyone is going to enjoy all of the new foods, sounds and smells that come with family holidays. Any way that we celebrate, let us be thankful. 😊

Happy Halloween!

Have a safe + happy Halloween from all of us at CP+!

Have the best Trick-or-Treat ever!

We’re a week away from Halloween and have some reminders on how to have the best trick-or-treat night!
  1. Practice wearing the costume at home. This allows them to get comfortable wearing it and you’ll have time to make any necessary adjustments.
  2. Talk about what to expect before Halloween so your child has time to get used to the plan.
  3. Map out your route for a visual.
  4. Practice trick or treating with friends and family!
  5. Keep trick or treating short and sweet. Know their limits.
  6. Not up for going door to door? Stay home and pass out candy.
Remember, Halloween looks different for every child on the spectrum and you know your child best. Use your intuition and if you only make it to three houses, that’s okay!

– Bailey Brown, RBT | Senior Technician, Apprentice

Play. Learn. Grow.

We asked our staff what our slogan means to them personally… here’s what Joe has to say!

“Play: I try to make our work environment as light-hearted and fun as possible while still maintaining focus. I feel that it helps foster the best environment possible for our staff and patients to thrive.

Learn: Every day I am learning new things whether it be about my role as a BCBA or those around me. Learning something new every day keeps life interesting!

Grow: I strive to grow as a provider with Child’s Play Plus. I started as an RBT with the company in 2017 with very little knowledge of ABA and have grown so much since then both professionally and personally. Working with so many great people over the years has helped me come out of my shell and love working here!”

Celebrating Graduations!

We are celebrating graduations here at CP+! It’s bittersweet to say goodbye but we know you all will do great things. We are so honored to be a piece of your child’s life!

“To all of our friends at CP+,

Thank you for helping our son transform in to such an incredible little guy full of humor, empathy, intelligence and wonder. As a team you have worked on the big things and small things that make life easier – for him and for us as a family. The dedication to helping him succeed in “real world” environments while keeping his unique sense of self is what we will always be the first to tell others about.

He is the best of all of us – from his siblings, to his fellow friends at CP+, to each RBT that has spent time with him, the SLPs, OTs and BCBAs. As cliche as it sounds, each of you have left a little pieces of yourself with him. We don’t see the Autism puzzle pieces as anything other than people leaving their own piece for our son to use in the bigger picture we call life.” – Parent
