Caregiver Review

We’re proud to serve the families of our community!

“More than just the therapeutic processes provided, the staff genuinely care for my child and his progress. ABA therapy has been a blessing in our life. We have a long way to go but every week we see some sort of progress in speech or behavior. Child’s Play is making a difference in our entire family’s life for the better and they are a great community asset.” – Caregiver Review

What’s it like to work at CP+?

“What I love about working at Child’s Play Plus is how much fun we have every day. We strive to make learning fun for the patients, and I think that makes a huge difference in how they grow! The staff have so much fun with each other too! It feels like a great big family. I love the continued training we receive and how managers take the time to check in and make sure we feel comfortable in our roles.” – Lydia Mack, RBT

Happy Memorial Day

In memory of all who served, happy Memorial Day!

Water safety!

Water safety! Did you know that your suit color matters? High visibility colors are a great idea when it comes to choosing a swimsuit (no matter the skill level). Look for bright colors like red, orange and neon – all of which will keep your kids more visible!

Other things to remember:
– Always supervise children with your full attention.
– Close and secure gates to unattended pool.
– Swim lessons for your child.
– Talk to your child about the importance of safety around the water.

Play. Learn. Grow.

Our BCBA team spends time with each patient regularly to assess their growth and ensure their treatment plan is always up to date!

Spirit Week!

We’re gearing up for the long weekend with a fun-filled Spirit Week! Kiddos are encouraged to participate and enjoy the week’s festivities with their therapy team!

Welcome Zach!

Please help us welcome Zach Smith to our Speech Team!

Zach is a Speech-Language Pathologist specializing in developmental speech and language as well as alternative-augmentative communication. Zach has an extensive background including practicing medical speech-language pathology in a hospital and skilled nursing facilities, to most recently in public schools working with pre-school and elementary aged children. This is where he found his passion to work in pediatrics. Here at Child’s Play Plus, Zach works with patients to identify and treat developmental delays that adversely impact communication by providing quality, individualized treatment.

“I want to help my patients reach their full potential as communicators and learners. ‘Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we will reap a harvest if we do not grow weary. – Galatians 6:9’” – Zach Smith, CCC-SLP

What’s it like to intern at CP+?

Thank you, Kennedy, for your kind words and spending the time to play, learn and grow with us during your clinical internship experience!

“They say time flies when you’re having fun, and my time at Child’s Play Plus has flown by. I’ve had multiple opportunities to gain professional experience as a psychology student at PFW, but my internship at the clinic was my favorite thus far. You have an amazing group of staff and kiddos, and I enjoyed every hour I spent with them. You all are doing amazing things for our community.

Thank you again for allowing students like myself to enter your clinic and learn more about ABA therapy. Coming out of this experience, I feel I have a better sense of the variety of ways ASD is displayed in individual patients and I’ve become more familiar with the range of treatment options available to them. I’m so thankful to have met you and your team, as you’ve taught me many valuable lessons over the course of the semester.”

What’s it like to work at CP+?

“Every day is different because every child is different. Watching a child learn or master a skill that you have been working on, is so rewarding. Knowing that I was a part of their success is an amazing feeling. I look forward to coming to work every day. I never believed it when someone would say they love their job because I didn’t believe that was possible. But being an RBT at CP+ has shown me that it is absolutely possible, and I do love my job!“

Fun at Work Day!

It’s National Fun at Work Day! To be fair, we have fun at work EVERY day, but we can always find ways to add in something extra! Today our Glenbrook clinic had a scavenger hunt, group bingo, musical chairs and a costume dance party!

Art + ABA Therapy

Art + ABA therapy! We love to explore new ways to connect and create! There are many benefits to using art during therapy that include creative thinking, motor skills, communication, tactile experiences and so much more!

Our Glenbrook kiddos are working on filling up the gallery wall in their new art room 🙂

Music + ABA

Exploring music + ABA. Our patients are motivated by all types of activities! For some, strumming a guitar or beating on a drum not only reinforces their hard work, but also allows the opportunity to work on fine motor skills while plucking the strings or grasping the drum sticks.

Executive Functions + OT

Executive Functions are mental skills that help us learn, work and manage our daily lives. When kids have difficulty with executive functioning they may have a hard time focusing, following directions or handling their emotions.

Sound familiar? We encourage you to reach out to us! Our Occupational Therapy team is here to help your child thrive!

Apprenticeship at CP+

Here at CP+ we support employee growth!

Each week we host supervision for our ABA Apprentices working toward their BCBA. Intensive clinical meetings, supplemental coursework, fluency based learning and open discussions are all centered around learning higher level ABA concepts.

ABA Skill Building

Our mock ice cream shop helps kids work on new skills with their peers!

Our ABA Team loves to integrate real life situations into therapy time. As one patient works on things like taking orders and giving correct change, the other can practice ordering items off of a menu to build independence when going out with their family.

Speech + Communication

Our Speech Therapists help kids with their communication skills in both verbal and nonverbal ways. One nonverbal technique is to use facial expressions to communicate our emotions. Actions like raising eyebrows, smiling and sticking our tongue out!
